Launched in 2012, the Sports Festival is an annual corporate event organized by the Hennessy House Culture and Sports Club (CSH). It brings together all employees of Jas Hennessy and Co around the values of sport and togetherness.

Held in the green surroundings of the CSH sports facilities, this event—led by members of the CSH and other company employees—offers a unique opportunity to meet outside the usual office and work environments. It’s a special moment to exchange ideas on important topics such as diversity, disability, and eco-responsibility.

The organization of the Sports Festival places particular emphasis on fighting food waste, promoting local products, and reducing waste.

  • Hennessy tote bag (introduced during the 2023 gatherings), Hennessy water bottle (encouraging participants to bring their own), and Hennessy cap (introduced at the 2025 New Year event).

EXEMPLARITY

  • Responsible consumption promoted by Maison Hennessy, including a two-drink bracelet per person per evening and cocktails served at 2cl instead of 4cl.

  • Reusable dishware used for events.
  • Pick-up from the train station and return by club shuttle available.

BIODIVERSITY AND SOIL MANAGEMENT

  • Noise impact reduced after 10:30 p.m.
  • Only the football field remains lit, along with a few LED path lights.
  • Actions carried out under the name of Maison Hennessy (including CSH and events) for gradual deployment across all sites (e.g., bird boxes, monitoring with ethologists...).
  • Installation of around twenty beehives in 2023.
  • Maintenance by EZAT.
  • Reduced mowing zones.
  • Lower mowing frequency and increased cutting height.
  • Hedges: green waste and composting at Sainte-Sévère / grass left as mulch when applicable.

RESPONSIBLE FOOD

  • Use of local and seasonal products.
  • No food waste – food trucks prepared meals to order, and leftover items from the caterer were donated to an association in Angoulême, in compliance with cold chain requirements.
  • Responsible alcohol consumption was promoted through a bracelet system allowing two alcoholic drinks per person, reduced alcohol quantity per cocktail, and clear signage before and during the event.
The Fair Play For Planet team congratulates the Fête des Sports Hennessy for its commitment to a more sustainable and responsible sport.
