VALJOLY EPPE SAUVAGE
The Valjoly tourist resort, which spans an area of 480 hectares in the heart of the Avesnois region, offers a wide range of sports and leisure activities—whether in the water at the Aquatica center, on the lake at the nautical base, or outdoors with land-based activities.
Inaugurated in 2008, the resort welcomes between 250,000 and 450,000 visitors per year.
Managed by Vert Marine since 2020, and following a post-Covid stabilization phase from 2022 to 2024, Valjoly is entering a new phase in 2025, with various development opportunities identified to enhance the resort’s appeal and boost the local area.
The Aquatica Center features a four-lane indoor pool, a paddling pool, a water slide, a 300 m² leisure pool, a wellness area (including a sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, and treatment room), as well as an outdoor pool.
The nautical base, located on the shores of Lake Valjoly, offers various water activities such as catamarans, windsurfing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding, all within the Sports and Nature Center.
At the same time, both by the water and in the forest, land-based sports and leisure activities (mountain biking, archery, etc.) complete Valjoly’s offering.

LOCAL IMPACT
- Recent collaboration between the CSR representative and the Sustainable Development Officer of the Nord Department.
- Eco-responsible commitment to the schools of Solre-le-Château through the “Infiniment Petit” program, which highlights the biodiversity found in pond ecosystems.
TRANSPORTS
- Willingness to engage staff on the benefits of carpooling and to encourage collective commuting solutions.
- Special operation: "€1 bus fare" (non-recurring initiative).
- Fleet includes 12 electric scooters, 4 electric golf carts, and 1 electric Kangoo van.
- Fuel consumption monitored at the technical facilities.
- Active participation in the development of a bike path connecting key strategic points in the region.
ON-SITE ECO RESPONSIBILITY
- Use of certified and/or recycled “eco-responsible” paper in the office, with printers set to black-and-white by default (signage in progress).
- Sustainable management of office supplies and equipment.
- Reusable water bottles provided to staff, and non-disposable dishware used in office spaces.
- No promotional giveaways are offered to any type of clientele.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
- Partial waste sorting implemented within the offices of the Maison du Valjoly.
- Composting underway in the staff break room, in connection with the educational garden.
- Specific oils (cooking, vehicle) processed by specialized service providers.
- A few ashtrays available across the site.
- Second life given to bicycles through a partnership with the Nord Department.
